Mashups as a cocktail family?
I’m a big fan of classics, I love them because they give us families of drinks that form a structure from which you can create twists.
Twists are great, swap an ingredient here add one there and suddenly you’ve got something new that’s really old.
Another great thing classic cocktail training does is it gives you a base understanding of what works together. In the case of mashups these two cocktails themselves when thrown together make a wicked mashup!
I’m keen to try this with Tequila also, but for now here’s the recipe for an Artist’s Club.
40ml (1.5oz) 57 Skye earth & sea gin.
30ml (1 oz) Tio Pepe sherry
20ml (3/4) redcurrant syrup
15ml (1/2 oz) lemon juice
5ml (1/4 oz) egg white
Shake & strain into coupe.
