There is some drama with Michelle Obama... well, with a painting of her!
Chris Devins painted a mural of Michelle Obama on a building in the Chicago neighborhood where Michelle grew up in. However, Chris was not the original artist...
Gelila Mesfin, an Ethiopian art student, published the portrait on Instagram last year.
She was not happy... for obvious reasons.
Well, Chris Devins acted obliviously and said he had no idea who she was until after the accusations kept rolling in. He said, "I credited Ms. Mesfin for her work immediately. I've taken the heat and will gladly do so as long as the kids have a mural they can look up to."
Thankfully, they've been in contact to work towards a resolution.
We're glad this is getting resolved because a portrait of Michelle Obama SHOULD grace the streets of Chicago.
