Welcome to this introduction and overview of the iFIX 6.5 release, specifically I'm excited to introduce you to the Configuration Hub - a highly productive web-based integrated development environment designed to configure your iFIX SCADA nodes from anywhere on your network in a layout you can customize to your work preference.
Moving iFIX configuration to a web-based paradigm has many advantages as you can likely imagine. Specifically, it provides a long overdue update from traditional 25 year old paradigms and interfaces, to a modern web-based UI and set of controls. It opens up our ability to have multiple SCADA HMI developers develop concurrently against the same SCADA and to do it from a web browser anywhere on the network without any custom installations required.
Moving to a web-based configuration will allow iFIX to move towards containerized data in the future with no dependency on OS specific user interfaces. And behind this user interface, is a complete set of secured rest APIs that will be documented to allow you to programmatically interact with. Thanks for watching this introduction.
