Let's understand regression algorithm it using an analogy:
Imagine you're a soccer coach, trying to predict how many goals your team will score in the next match based on various factors like player skill, opponent strength, and weather conditions. A regression algorithm, in this case, can be thought of as a skilled sports analyst who helps you make these predictions.
First the analyst has to collects historical data on your team's past matches, examining the number of goals scored and the factors associated with each match. To make a prediction for a future match, the analyst finds patterns in the data by "fitting" a line or curve that represents the relationship between the number of goals scored and the factors involved.
