Stop-motion animation lessons from Smart Plasticine. This time we will create an animation of a Bouncing ball and learn one of the 12 principles of animation-compression and decompression. This is a classic task that is performed by everyone who wants to learn how to make cartoons.

We will need a regular checkered sheet, pencil and plasticine. Let's draw a line with a height of 12 cells and put serifs, as shown in this tutorial video. Then we take plasticine and make a ball out of it. Then proceed to the animation. You just need to move the ball along the serifs and photograph each position of the ball. Closer to the ground, the ball will stretch more and more. At the very last point, it needs to be flattened. So we will be able to create the illusion of a real ball inflated with air. Then the ball goes up and falls again. This can be repeated several times.
