This tutorial demonstrates one method for stretching watercolor paper. Every artist has their own favorite way to prepare the paper, and I encourage you to experiment until you discover what works for you. I often use this method for stretching smaller pieces of paper (up to 8 x 10 inches.) For larger paper, I soak in a tube for 3 to 10 minutes, and then staple to the board.
I learned this method from watercolor artist, Phil Schmidt, and I'd like to thank him for sharing his tutorial for stretching watercolor paper in the Youtube Group "Watercolor Steps."
