Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah Says Israel's Key Military Base Near Tel Aviv Targeted
Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said his group carried out a large-scale attack on Israel on Sunday, targeting a military intelligence base near Tel Aviv. He also denied Israel's claim that it destroyed thousands of Hezbollah's rocket launchers. In response, Israel launched air strikes into Lebanon, claiming to have destroyed "thousands" of Hezbollah's rocket launchers and to have stopped a major attack. Hezbollah, however, said it had launched a barrage of drones and rockets. Nasrallah identified the Gilot base, located about 60 miles from the Israel-Lebanon border, as the main target of the operation. The Israeli army, though, stated that Hezbollah's attempt to strike the base had failed.
