Administration
The PASAT is presented using audio cassette tape to ensure standardization in the rate of stimulus presentation.
Single digits are presented every 3 seconds and the patient must add each new digit to the one immediately prior to it.
In other words patients are asked to add the number they just heard with the number they heard before.
This is a challenging task that involves working memory, attention and arithmetic capabilities.
Various Versions are available which differ with which time the numbers are presented
The Administration time is approximately 10-15 minutes including practice sessions.
