The year before Em came to camp half-blood, Tom and Reb barely make it to camp half-blood. During Tom’s run from a chimera, the chimera jumps through Reb’s apartment and pushes Reb out of his window. Tom catches Reb in a burst or energy and takes him with on the run along with Tom’s mother. They make it to the barrier and Tom’s mother runs out of energy and the chimera catches up with her and devours her. Tom couldn’t take it and took her anger out on the chimera.
