A short documentary about the life of Gerard Mooyman, a Dutch boy who joined the German military and served in the SS-Freiwilligen Legion 'Niederlande' during the Second World War. He was the first non-German to be awarded the Knight's Cross, the highest German award during the war.

I find it very interesting to highlight his story. There is no way to defend or glorify Nazi Germany, I certainly don't do that, and that's not the point of this video at all. I think it is interesting to look behind the individual story of a soldier who fought for Nazi Germany. Why did they join the military? Why did they fight? What were their reasons? This is one of those stories.
