Joshua Strobl announced version 10.7 of the software, a custom desktop environment called “ Budgie ” developed by the Buddies development team, which is the product of a brand new release series that includes major re-architectures for Budgie Desktop, new APIs for extensibility, and a polish to the user experience . Stating that he is happy to announce Budgie 10.7 , Strobl; stated that this is the first release in the 10.7 series . Strobl;Budgie noted that the desktop settings now have a new design for widget selection that applies to both panel widgets and the new Raven widget system. The Budgie menu has been greatly improved in 10.7 with new functionality and improvements to app launch. Coming with dual GPU support, the Budgie menu will use switcheroo-control, if available, to switch between GPU environments when launching demanding applications. The Budgie menu will now provide a "personal user menu" with fast XDG directory access. It is expressed that those who reported errors, contributed to the correction, and supported the community through OpenCollective heart are thanked.
