At CES 2021, Sony's been boasting about its new line of Bravia XR TVs. The new lineup includes both LCD and OLED options at various price points and screen sizes. They all support ATSC 3.0 (or NextGen TV) and come equipped with Google TV, the customized version of Android TV we first saw in the Chromecast with Google TV.
Here's some more info on what Sony's offering:
Master Series Z9J (85", 75") 8K LED TV
Master Series A90J (83", 65", 55") OLED TV
A80J (77", 65", 55") OLED TV
X95J (85", 75", 65") 4K LED TV
X92 (100"), X90J (75", 65", 55", 50") 4K LED TV
Meanwhile, Sony is also touting its new Bravia Core streaming service, a movie-focused venture coming to the Bravia XR TV line. The overall library reportedly includes at least 300 movies and supports bitrates of up to 80 Mbps. In fact, Sony says Bravia Core can rival the image quality of 4K Blu-ray discs.
Of course, we'd have to get some hand-on (and eyes-on) time with the service to confirm that for ourselves, but for now, we're looking forward to learning more about Bravia Core as the year progresses.
Pricing details and retail availability for the Bravia XR line are expected around spring of 2021.
