EMC INFRASTRUCTURE FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE MICROSOFT AND ORACLE DATABASE SYSTEMS
This demo highlights the performance acceleration for Microsoft and oracle database systems in a virtualized environment with EMC technologies such as VFCache, VMAX 40K, FAST VP. It shows the architecture design of the environment to deploy and implement SQL Server 2012 both OLTP and Data Warehouse type databases and Oracle 11g R2 OLTP database, as well as a SQL Server Failover cluster on the EMC Symmetrix VMAX 40K platform in a virtualized environment . The performance improvement for the OLTP databases is demonstrated here with two configurations: one with storage bottleneck and one with a sufficiently configured storage for the OLTP workload. This demo also highlights VFCache seamlessly working with SQL Server failover cluster to ensure source LUN acceleration while guaranteeing data integrity during failover process.
