Not only are design competitions and contests completely exploitative, they're predatory. They prey on inexperienced designers and they lure them in with promises of exposure and future payment that end up never happening.
They're bad for the whole industry, but more importantly, they're bad for you. Working hard and not getting paid or even acknowledged can be hard to deal with. So why would you put yourself in a situation where it's almost guaranteed that's exactly what's going to happen?
