In this chapter, Amicia and Hugo enjoy a peaceful day in the countryside, playing games and exploring the ruins of a castle. However, their happiness is soon shattered by a sudden attack from the Inquisition, who are still after Hugo’s blood. The siblings have to escape from the castle and the deadly swarms of rats, while Hugo discovers a new power that he can’t control. They end up in a city ravaged by fire and plague, where they have to find their friends and save their mother from a cruel fate.
