Bulldozer Action in Naya Nagar, Mumbai: Municipal Authorities Demolish Illegal Structures
On January 23rd, bulldozer action was carried out in Naya Nagar, on Mumbai's Bira Road. The demolition was overseen by the municipal authorities and executed under heavy police bandobas. The bulldozer drive was initiated two days after a procession celebrating Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha was targeted with stone pelting in the same locality. Multiple illegal structures and sheds were torn down as a result. In the aftermath of the incident, 15 arrests were made.
