On 9 January, 2024, the South Korean government passed legislation to ban the country's controversial dog meat industry.
The law makes it illegal to breed, slaughter, and sell dogs for human consumption and will take effect in 2027.
Dateline visited South Korea's dog farms in 2018 and witnessed an industry in severe decline.
