Is Joy in Inside Out 2? The idea of Joy being a in Inside Out 2 isn't new, but there's some interesting evidence to support it. Joy’s character design has always looked a bit queer. Her pixie cut is a popular hairstyle, and her dyed blue hair fits a long-standing trend among folks. In both Inside Out movies, Joy doesn’t seem interested in Riley’s male crushes. For instance, when she meets Lance Slashblade, she’s completely unimpressed by his looks and melodramatic personality. Similarly, when Riley's imaginary boyfriends appear, Joy is visibly disturbed. However, her reaction to Valentina “Val” Ortiz in Inside Out 2 is completely different. Joy is overexcited and tells everyone to “act regular,” causing the Emotions to panic when Riley acts "uncool" in front of Val. This mirrors the scene when Jordan meets Riley in the first movie, where his Emotions panic during the "Girl Alert!" moment, suggesting a potential crush. Inside Out 3 should totally make this theory canon.
