Each month, the OUP History Book Club will host live, thought-provoking conversations between Oxford University Press authors about a selected book.
In April, we featured The Movement: The African American Struggle for Civil Rights by Thomas C. Holt, James Westfall Thompson Professor Emeritus of American and African American History at the University of Chicago.
Holt was in conversation with Raymond Arsenault, John Hope Franklin Professor of Southern History Emeritus at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg and author of Freedom Riders: 1961 and the Struggle for Racial Justice.
We encouraged questions from the audience during the chat and hope attendees will continue the conversation on social media using #OUPHistoryBookClub. Book club attendees can purchase featured titles at a 30% discount.
