The Climb 2 Speedrun - New Blanc improved time - Pro Record 1.21.2s - Oculus Quest VR city climbing
New Blanc, new shortcut, faster time! Here's my latest record speedrun in New Blanc with improved times in all three sectors. I'm racing against a ghost run of my previous record time of 1.26.5s achieving cumulative time savings of -0.637s, -3.404s and -5.326s at the three platforms.
I'm using a better shortcut in the second sector thanks to TheAfricanRhino for the tip on jumping left from the high level window to the hanging platform which I reckon saves about 2 seconds over my previous route. I also managed a tidier dismount from the third inclined pole which put me in the perfect position for jumping to the second hanging platform without any need for repositioning. In the first sector I made up ground with an improved, less hesitant, sequence of jumps climbing across the undercroft of the skyscraper and the rope on the approach to platform A. Finally, in the third sector some longer jumps across the window cleaning grips are followed by a perfectly-timed climb up the advertising hoarding and a more efficient spiral up the tower to the finish platform - I really had to hold my nerve in the final stretch, it's so easy to lean your head into the tower and get bumped off just before the end!
This New WR run of 1.21.238s was set on 15th April, 2022 on an Oculus Quest 2 (Meta Quest). New Blanc is the first level in the city series in the Climb 2 by Crytek. Thanks for watching!
