In 2004, the PSA group updated the 2.0 HDI engine: a 16-valve cylinder head and a new fuel system were added (Siemens and Delphi fuel systems were used instead of Bosch). This engine is commonly known as DW10BTED4. It was installed on a huge number of cars: Peugeot, Citroёn, Fiat and Lancia, as well as on Ford cars and Volvo when it belonged to Ford (4-cylinder turbo diesel D4204T - this is this French engine).
The engine is quite reliable and resourceful, in addition, it is able to survive the collision of pistons and valves when the timing belt breaks or the pulley breaks.
