Monolithos was meant to be Jonathan's Discord Gauntlet entry, but unfortunately didn't end up being possible in the end, but the level still ended up being completed as it's own standalone.

Since it was for the Gauntlet it does have two seperate "modes" one being a darker, purple/blue themed design and the other a brighter orange/brown palette. They both look great, each one switching up some of the decoration while still feeling connected and similar in small ways. One thing that I enjoy about his levels is that he can make both small detailed effects and also grandiose set pieces, the music are always good choices too, since they end up amplifying the effects to make them look and feel punchier.

The background art for both modes are the highlight for me, you get so many shapes, patterns and textures throughout, that have a nice depth and sense of scale to them, while the block design is a bit more subtle.
