So let’s understand what is Social Proof?
In various situations we are uncertain and so we assume people around us have more knowledge about the subject in question. So we start assuming the action of others is correct and we tend to take that action. This psychological phenomenon is known as social proof.
There 5 different types of social proof. Let’s explore them one by one.
01 Expert Social Proof: When an industry expert recommends your product or service, it is known as expert social proof
02 Celebrity Social Proof: Here a celebrity endorses your product or service. This can be paid or non-paid endorsement.
03 Users Social Proof: When actual users praise your products on social media or review sites or write a testimonial based on experience it is known as user-generated social proof.
04 Certification Social Proof: Here your brand is certified for specific criteria of manufacturing, testing or performance by some recognised authoritative body. Even one can consider the blue tick mark on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as certification proof. Twitter?..... you can hold that at the moment.
05 Data-driven proof Social Proof: A large group of people is seen as endorsing your brand e.g. Number of customers served or millions of followers on social media platforms.
