FileMaker's save record automatically has a hidden gothya -- there is no edit undo!
When you accidentally make a change to a FileMaker record and want to undo the save, you find yourself stuck. There is no close the window and don't save changes, or alert that pops up to let you know you've edited the record and it's about to get committed.
Having a save changes alert on layouts where someone could make changes by mistake is a great way to protect your data and prevent huge hassles trying to figure out what the data was originally.
In this FileMaker tutorial, I show you how to make one small edit to your FileMaker layout so that you disable the automatic save and instead trigger an alert to save changes when a record is modified.
