Fixing a slow editor in Elementor is crucial for your workflow. If your page has a lot of content and a lot of containers, at a certain point, the editor is going to get slow. And if you're using the new nested widgets, such as the tabs or carousel, it's going to become slow even if you don't have a lot of content.
Sometimes, it gets so slow it can take far too long to load. It lags, it's unresponsive and it's just a massive bottleneck in your work process. And it takes all of the fun out of building websites.
You can easily improve the speed of your Elementor editor by using templates. Templates are normally used in situations where you want to have the same content showing up on multiple different pages. You change the template and the changes are reflected everywhere that template is used.
Well, using templates can also make your editor work far better as well. I recommend you try turning your content heavy containers (or containers using nested widgets) into templates and then just using those templates on your actual pages by using shortcodes.
That way, Elementor is only going to be loading the shortcodes while you're editing the page, instead of loading the actual content. You essentially remove all of that content from the page when editing. And your actual, live page, is going to look and work exactly the same as it did before.
And, as you can imagine, Elementor loading less content means it's going to be far faster and easier to work with. You can use this method for multiple parts of your page, or you can just use it for the most problematic containers.
