Today Kathy Long will give you a self defense tip on how to counter a haymaker, even if your opponent is much bigger. What's the difference between a straight punch and a haymaker?
A straight punch is quicker to target than a big haymaker. Your punch will either push your opponent out of his range, so his punch will miss, or make him think twice about continuing his attack. A haymaker is a punch that is thrown with full force and total commitment. The punch is similar to a hook but employing the shoulders and the hips to enhance the power of the blow. The punch is intended to be a knockout blow, but if it misses the target, it can leave the fighter wide open for a counter attack. Watch this fight tip and let us know what you think!
