Auroville, located between Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, is known as The City of Dawn. Auroville is internationally recognised as the first and the only ongoing experiment in human unity. Home to people from over 40 countries, Auroville is a melting pot of projects, aiming for social change. Austrian ethnomusicologist Aurelio’s project Svaram is a part of Auroville's international community project. Svaram is a music research center and an instrument workshop where Aurelio and his team create instruments and healing spaces inspired by the sounds around them. Svaram was started with seven school dropouts. Today, over 30 villagers are skilled in the art of creating instruments and healing. Together, Aurelio and his team have created over 120 varieties of instruments
