Still updating numbering when adding or deleting Markdown list items? Stop! You can let Markdown handle it for you
Markdown actually doesn't care about numbers in ordered lists, with the exception of the first item which defines where numbering starts. This means you can use "1." for all list items and the list will still have the correct numbering when it is rendered
Using "1." everywhere is a great time saver when you need to insert or remove an element into a ordered list. It also results in smaller diffs in commits and PRs
Of course you are free to maintain proper numbering and this can be useful if your markdown will primarily viewed as text, but if the Markdown is just going to be rendered to html, stop working about the numbers and love the "1."
