A message from Selective Response:
I had been wanting to create something I thought best embodied the sound and culture of the West Coast underground techno. Something that no one, as far as I'm aware, had done yet. We are lucky to call this place home, with such a diverse array of people who each have their own idea of what techno is and can be. The various sub-cultures of the 80s, 90s, and 00s all helped craft a unique environment that, while far from perfect, is truly inimitable.
As such, I wanted to shed light on this special place in my way.
Back in January, I teamed up with Pioneer DJ, Lick n Dip, and Pure Musica. What started as an idea to record a set with a great view of Los Angeles has come to life thanks to the hard work of the Pure Musica team. Without them and their trust in my vision, none of this could have happened. I chose this exact location because, to me, this is what Los Angeles is - full of grime, non-stop traffic, graffiti, and history. I believe this mix reflects all of that.
I'm proud of our hard work and to be a part of the Los Angeles Techno community. I'm grateful to have been a small part of its growth over the years and beyond excited to continue watching it flourish.
