To put bullet points lists side by side in Google Docs, insert a table with two columns and copy the list in parts into each table columns, then click in the table and click 'Format' menu and select 'Table' then 'Table properties' and reduce the table border width to '0pt'. This way the table is no longer visible and you are just left with your side by side or horizontal bulleted list.
