The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Friday morning that NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, have died.
They were reportedly killed after they were struck by a drunk driver while riding bikes in Oldsman Township, New Jersey. The driver was arrested and charged with two counts of death by auto. He reportedly hit the brothers while attempting to maneuver around an SUV on County Road 551 Thursday night.
Johnny was 31 and Matthew was 29. The tragedy struck one day before the brothers were set to be groomsmen in their sister’s wedding.
