In this episode of the Museum Stories Documentary, you will hear such great stories, each one more precious than the other. At the Harbiye Military Museum, we felt very lucky as we wandered through the corridors where Atatürk walked and wandered during his student years, and witnessed many moments of military history.

The spirituality of the building where the museum was established and the enthusiasm created in our hearts by the classroom where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk studied are reinforced by the following words of Ali Fuat Cebesoy in his book, My Classmate Atatürk. “Our classroom was dark, but our hearts were full of light.”

This is a magnificent museum where the Army State, Army Nation phenomenon permeates every corner. There are so many stories that do not fit into this documentary, there are so many artifacts that you should definitely visit this museum. For example, you should see the green colored banner used in the 1st Kosovo war, you should see the magnificent sword collections, you should see the helmet collections that protected the heads of the soldiers while fighting in many different times and fronts.

The Harbiye Military Museum is exactly what it should be: a place of education. You can see examples of sword collections, helmet collections, firearms collections from almost every era, from every nation. You can closely examine the changes over time and their differences according to geographies. You should especially see the helmets of Orhan Gazi and Sokullu.

Museums have stories and this documentary follows those stories. You should come here to listen to the story of the cannons used by Mehmet the Conqueror in the conquest of Istanbul and the story of the oldest Ottoman rifle at the entrance of the Harbiye Military Museum.
