Total cost of ownership is a long-term picture. It's hard to put your finger on a dollar figure because it extends over decades.

The biggest challenge that customers face in understanding the total cost is in bringing all of the data together in one place, in one tool, all related to the asset. The functional consulting area that I'm part of is really responsible for guiding customers in the use of our APM tools in their efforts to achieve the maximum amount of value from those tools.

The thing that customers want is to be able to understand the basis of their cost. So if you have Asset Strategy Manager set up, it's got all of those strategies, the tasks, and the relative costs, and the way that they tie to risk to the business.

The value of the Industrial Managed Services is in the guidance and the broad awareness that we bring into the implementation of APM.
