Deleted INSIDE OUT 2 Scene Reveals...
Here’s a deleted scene from Inside Out 2 that would have added a lot of fun and depth to the movie. Originally, the film was going to introduce another emotion called Shame, alongside Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui. Although some of these emotions didn’t make it past the concept stage, Shame was storyboarded for a scene called “Shame Spiral.” This scene was set near the end of the movie, during a party Riley attended with older teens she met at hockey camp. The group starts playing “Never Have I Ever,” and Riley hesitantly joins in. That’s when both Anxiety and Shame show up. Shame was portrayed as a beautiful woman with long, flowing hair that she uses to hide as her emotion grows stronger within Riley. The idea was for Shame to spiral out of control, causing chaos at Headquarters and leading to a big storm when Riley’s friend Grace puts her on the spot, triggering a fight between them. Ultimately, the scene was scrapped, and Shame was simplified into Anxiety, with the storm becoming an Anxiety attack instead.
