Patchwork panel "On vacation to grandma"
Panel for the contest - how is it done? In this video you will learn how to make a three-dimensional contour of patchwork elements, how to embroider a pattern on a sewing machine using a water-soluble stabilizer for embroidery and the main stages of working on a panel.
A train compartment... A girl is going to her grandmother on vacation... I found my sketches, a life-size drawing of a border, a portrait of a girl and the interior of a carriage compartment... There were even unused landscape squares outside the train window.))) Yes, the landscape is done schematically, in contrast to the foreground.
How is the border embroidered? I used thick thread (so that the contours of the picture are more clearly read) and a small stitch (so that the rounded lines have a smoother outline).
I came up with the voluminous seam for the contour of the elements of the picture 20 years ago, when I could not find suitable threads for stitching the sides of the jacket! Then I used yarn: I threaded ordinary threads into a machine needle, and crossed the yarn under the foot every 2 stitches. Here, this technique helped me to make the drawing more "childish", as children draw: each color is separated by a clear outline.)
