In late 2008, Ms. Saxena was diagnosed with breast cancer. During her 8 months of agonizing treatment, she got in touch with the Founder of Sangini, a Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Centre, who helped her through the difficult time. Once she finished her treatment, she decided to become a member of Sangini and learned how to work her way through the network of doctors to reach out to more and more patients. In 2011, Ms. Saxena took the responsibilities and became the coordinator of Sangini. She has conducted over 125 breast cancer awareness programs in the last 9 years and has received seven various awards for her various brilliant works. Ms. Saxena was diagnosed with cancer in her spinal cord last year, but it has not shaken her motive to help and serve women and society. She continues with her work as she takes treatment for this afflicting disease.
