Using the EMANT380 Bluetooth DAQ and python, we can measure biopotential (ECG) using electrodes placed on the wrists or chest. We can also measure the heart rate using hand held electrodes. This opens the possibility of creating proof of concept non instrusive heart rate monitoring apps for drivers, cyclist, soldiers and computer gamers etc. With the Python programming environment, algorithms can be tested and demonstrated quickly and inexpensively by anyone with a computer. Py4A (Python for Android) allows for mobile solutions using the Android smartphone.
