Today, Teacher Ellie shows you how to express the feeling of having "no choice" in something. The structure is:
Subject + 得 (děi) + to do something
Wǒ děi xué Zhōngwén.
我得学中文.
I have to learn Chinese.
Nǐ děi qǐng wǒ chīfàn.
你得请我吃饭.
You have to invite me for dinner.
Nǐ děi zhăo yí gè nán péngyǒu.
你得找一个男朋友.
You've got to get a boyfriend.
找 (zhăo) = to get or to find
男 (nán) = boy or man
朋友 (péngyǒu) = friend

Also, in today's lesson Teacher Ellie describes how the family of a potential bride may pressure the future husband into buying a house before marriage. Therefore, they drive up the high housing demand and prices.
Tā míngnián yào jiéhūn. Tā děi mǎi fángzi.
他明年要结婚. 他得买房子.
He is getting married next year. He has to buy an apartment/house.
