Description: African Americans are disproportionately affected by multiple medical conditions and by the social stressors that place them at risk of developing psychiatric disorders. This presentation will focus on community-engaged culturally responsive, and evidence-informed patient and family-centered approaches for increasing access to physical and behavioral health care and eliminating health inequalities. It will highlight a culture centered approach to developing, implementing, evaluating, and disseminating these
intervention strategies and approaches in collaboration with community
par partners and key stakeholders.
Speaker Bio: Dr . Nadine Kaslow is a Professor, Vice Chair for Faculty Development, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Director of the Atlanta Trauma Alliance, Emory University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences; Chief Psychologist, Grady Health System; and Director of Postdoctoral Residency Training, Emory University School of Medicine.
