Dodge Challenger Caught Racing Tries to Flee From Arkansas State Police
On the night of September 20, 2023, Trooper Lucas engaged in a high-speed pursuit of two vehicles racing on Interstate 440, with speeds estimated at 150 mph. The chase continued onto Interstate 30 and then Interstate 430, with the suspect vehicle, a white Dodge Challenger, driving recklessly and at one point side-swiping another vehicle. Trooper Lucas performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention to stop the vehicle, which then crashed into the median barrier. The driver, Dmitri Barton, and passenger, Amparo Lopez-Gomez, were apprehended and placed in custody. Lopez-Gomez, who complained of shoulder pain, was transported to the hospital. Barton was also medically evaluated before being taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center for processing.
