"The Fossegrim" is part of the collection Norwegian Miniatures by Maria Linnemann.
Fossegrim is a water spirit in Scandinavian folklore, living in waterfalls and rivers. He has incredible musical skills, especially with the fiddle, and his melodies can lure people to dance until they drop or fall into the water. Despite this, some tales portray him as kind, granting musical talents to those who show him respect and offer gifts.
