6. Role Transition - Physical Standby Database
6.1 Perform a Switchover with shanghainode and xiamennode
Step 1: Verify the Switchover status on the Primary - shanghainode
Step 2: Convert the primary database into a physical standby database
Step 3: Shut down and restart the former primary as a new standby
Step 4: Query the SWITCHOVER_STATUS on the standby database
Step 5: Convert the former standby to a primary database
Step 6: Shutdown and restart the new primary database
Step 7: Start Redo Apply on the new physical standby - shanghainode
Step 8: Start Redo Apply on the physical standby - longyannode
Step 9: Verify the new primary and standby database
6.2 Perform a Switchback with xiamennode and shanghainode
Step 1: Verify the Switchover status on the Primary - xiamennode
Step 2: Convert the primary database into a physical standby database
Step 3: Shut down and restart the former primary as a new standby
Step 4: Query the SWITCHOVER_STATUS on the standby database
Step 5: Convert the former standby to a primary database
Step 6: Shutdown and restart the new primary database

Step 1: Verify the Switchover status on the Primary - shanghainode
Step 2: Convert the primary database into a physical standby database

Step 4: Query the SWITCHOVER_STATUS on the standby database
Step 5: Convert the standby to a primary database
Step 6: Shutdown and restart the new primary database
Step 7: Start Redo Apply on the new physical standby - shanghainode
Step 8: Start Redo Apply on the physical standby - xiamennode
Step 9: Verify the new primary and standby database
6.4 Perform a Switchback with longyannode and shanghainode
Step 1: Verify the Switchover status on the Primary - shanghainode
Step 2: Convert the primary database into a physical standby database
Step 3: Shut down and restart the former primary as a new standby
Step 4: Query the SWITCHOVER_STATUS on the standby database
Step 5: Convert the former standby to a primary database
Step 6: Shutdown and restart the new primary database
Step 7: Start Redo Apply on the new physical standby - longyannode
Step 8: Start Redo Apply on the physical standby - xiamennode
Step 9: Verify the new primary and standby database
6.5 Perform a Failover to the Physical Standby - xiamennode
Step1: Identify and resolve any archive log gaps
Step2: Copy and register any other missing archived redo logs
Step3: Perform terminal recovery on the target standby
Step4: convert the physical standby into a primary database
Step5: Restart the new primary database in read/write mode
Step6: Verify the new Primary Database
Step7: Perform a full backup of the new primary database
Step8: Flashing Back the Physical Standby Database - longyannode
Step9: Using Flashback Database After a Failover
6.6 Flashing Back a Failed Primary into a Physical Standby
Step1: Determine the SCN at which the old standby database became the primary database
Step 2: Flash back the failed primary database
Step 3: Convert the Failed Database to a Physical Standby Database
Step 4: Shut down and restart the old primary database
Step 5: Restart transporting redo to the new physical standby
Step 6: Start Redo Apply
Step 7: Restart Redo Apply on the new physical standby database if necessary
Step 8: Verify the new primary and standby database
6.7 Perform a Switchback with xiamennode and shanghainode
Step1: Verify the Switchover status on the Primary - xiamennode
