There's one particular scam that never seems to go away. It involves a call from someone claiming to be from Medicare. A viewer named Bill sent us an email that says, "I received a call from a person saying she represented Medicare and asked if I received a new 2025 card from Medicare. Bad English and presentation. I hung up. Don't believe Medicare contacts us via phone." Bill is absolutely right. Medicare never calls you. That's the best way to remember this is a scam. Also, Medicare is not issuing new laminated cards. They did issue new cards with new unique account numbers in 2019, but that project has been completed. Never give your Medicare account number to anyone over the phone. These scammers want that number to commit fraud, like ordering knee braces and other medical devices on your dime. Medicare fraud costs the government somewhere between $60 billion to $100 billion a year. #MedicareScam #PhoneScam #FraudAlert #ScamAwareness #IdentityTheft #MedicareFraud #ProtectYourInfo #MedicareCalls #ScamPrevention #ConsumerProtection #ScamWarning #HealthScam #FraudPrevention #MedicareSafety #BewareOfScams
