Fire and Ice || SSD Luring Lovers
Hi everyone, here is my friend, Hannah Lightson, and I's submission for the Star Stable Dressage competition, Luring Lovers!
Description: Our entry “Fire and Ice” is based around the idea of two lovers separated by distance, getting just barely close enough to touch before being separated again. We added in a lot of circle variations and curls to show how every time the two started to get close they were torn away again. Furthermore we had each rider be fire or ice(Bay Knab was fire and Grey was ice) to represent how they could just barely touch but were never meant to stay together for long, star-crossed by being separated and very different all in one since fire and ice cannot mix. We also used twists and twist variations to represent infinity to show how their love for one another was infinite despite the forces keeping them apart.
We also thought this theme worked well during the time of the pandemic when many loved ones are separated by distance and we wanted to depict that since it relates to current societal issues and the theme of valentines day when many will be separated due to the pandemic this year but have kept their love strong and "infinite" despite this.
