This hacker cracked the French banking system
This is Serge Humpich who hacked the French banking system.
He's been called the oldest hacker ever, ‘cos he was 36 at the time.
While working as a computer scientist,
Serge discovered a vulnerability in French bank cards with chips.
The bug was in the mathematical logic of the card's firmware.
This would allow anyone to withdraw any amount from ATMs and make purchases.
Humpich reported his discovery to the leading banks in France and asked for a reward.
As proof, he bought some subway tickets with the fake card and sent the receipts
to the banks.
