This tutorial was edited kind of choppily due to my computer being SUPER SLOW today, which made the editing process very difficult (and caused my screen recorder to skip over parts of what I did,) so apologies for that…. Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed the various glitch effects I showed you!
I've been using the Wave Warp glitch method for a long time (as well as making duplicate clip layers that are cropped/repositioned), but I've always wanted the ability to easily create more complex distortion glitches, and it finally hit me! The Track Matte Key, obviously! How did it take me years to figure that out? In any case, the discovery spurred me to start a new video, the beginning of which is previewed in this tutorial.
Also, it's kind of hard to track what I'm doing on the second glitch, so here's a summary of what I did:
make a duplicate of the clip you want to glitch, on the layer right above it.
add a glitch overlay on the layer above the duplicate
add a track matte key to the duplicate clip, and set it to luma
shift the position and/or size of the duplicate clip so your glitch will be visible
lower the opacity of your duplicate clip if you want a less intense glitch
Finally, as a little gift for you all, here's a link to all the glitch overlays in my collection so far! http://www.mediafire.com/folder/flpfo...
Thanks for watching, and happy vidding!
