While speaking at an event for the University of Memphis’ Turning Point USA chapter, Kyle Rittenhouse was heckled so badly he eventually stormed off stage.

Rittenhouse, who has recently been participating in more speaking engagements across the country, said his premature departure, shown in other videos of the event, had nothing to do with the heckling.

Rittenhouse became infamous after he shot and killed two people and wounded another during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020 that erupted over the death of Jacob Blake. Rittenhouse, then 17, went on to become a conservative icon in the wake of the shooting and was later acquitted of all charges. Since then, the now 21-year-old has become a rising star in conservative circles, with many seeing him as an example of someone who defended themselves with a firearm and won.
