Originally developed and pioneered by Haivision, SRT is an open source video transport protocol, which is used in JVC's CONNECTED CAM range of camcorders, encoder/decoder and live production/streaming systems. SRT stands for Secure Reliable Transport; it optimises video streaming performance across unpredictable networks.

The whole JVC CONNECTED CAM system, with compatible decoders and switchers and SRT’s open source technology (see @SRTAlliance for more information), provides a truly plug-and-play streaming ecosystem that doesn’t require expensive backpacks.
