This is How to Install a Control/Expansion Joint onto Drywall.

The final topcoat on the expansion joint is all dry so we can sand it evenly for a smooth finish.
First you must tear away the tapes to the expansion joint. Remember to pull the tabs into the center of the joint.
In this video the first tab I pull away is correct however when i removed the second tab, the one in the slow motion i pulled the tab away from joint which was incorrect. So I had to patch a little bit more as you can see in the end.
So this is how you fix those cracks that just keep re appearing most commonly found in hallways of your house.
