Changing GBC Batteries FPS [First Person Soldering]

CR1616 batteries are cheap. Even cheaper if you get the ones without metal tabs. A LOT cheaper. This was my first and second experience in doing so. I also would like users to take note that traditional CR1616 battery holders WILL NOT fit in Gameboy cartridges even when sawed down with a Dremel tool, they force the cartridge to bow out putting stress on the case. The length of this video had to do with calculating how much space I would have to design a 3D printed quick release case and all of the things I would have to look out for.

I first used tape because I soldered it incorrectly. Avoid using superglue because it will not adhere to the metal tabs. You could use a small dab of hot glue and easily remove it later with a little alcohol although I wouldn't specifically recommend it.

If you happen to have a 3d printer, I would recommend using this .stl I just made! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:427.... If you're looking to change the battery in Pokemon try this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:406... to make a tiny cap to ensure there is no movement. If not I would recommend using a small piece of clear or insulated tape.

Note also that Pokemon games and others like it (Red/Blue/Silver/Chrystal/Gold) use CR2025 battery cells which are also really cheap.
